The 20th century was the time of change for the music.New musical genres with different influences have appeared and many new artists to sing them.Some of the old music has been improved ,some of it replaced by the new requests ,but even so,there are some famous musiciens that made music keep its fame as one of the most amazing arts.
One of the representative musiciens of the 20th century was Louis Armstrong.He was famous for his jazz improvisations and he was also called the founding father of jazz and the international ambassador of swing.He learned by himself how to play the trumpet and invented the sound of swing ,becoming a band leader .He also was the first jazz singer who sang solo,not only in a band and he did it excellent .Louis Armstrong was very popular for his Heebie Jeebies,Mack and Knife,Hello Dolly or West End Blues works and he usually did 300 concerts a year.An American musician and composer from the 20th century that won a Pulitzer Prize was Elliot Cook Carter Jr.,director of the Lincoln Kirsten’s Ballet Caravan in 1935,teacher at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory,Juilliard School or Yale University. He brought the innovation in music through his style,by using a metric modulation or a tempo modulation,that quickly made him remarked and admired by many people .
